An exquisite example of neo-gothic architecture, Christ Church has been an irreplaceable part of Shimla’s scenery. Located on The Ridge, it was built in this year 1857 and it Draw almost 3 years to complete this architectural marvel. The stained glass windows, the clock tower and the frescos are some of the interest of this church. It also houses the biggest pipe organ in India and has been a part of many Bollywood Films like Black and 3 Idiots.

2-The Ridge

At the inside of the town is The Shimla Ridge, which offers amazing views of the mountain peaks of the land. The Ridge is a spacious open space that runs from east to west along the Mall, which is yet another best visitor destination. It connects to the Scandal inside on the west. Located below The Ridge, Mall Road offers a glimpse of Shimla in an outline. It is filled with many shops, cafes, restaurants, book shops and many Visitor Appeal. Take a stroll on Mall Road and get shocked at every turn by the things this place has to offer. The scenic beauty of Shimla can also be seen still here.

4-Indian Institute of Advance Study

The Indian Institute of Advanced Study or Rashtrapati Niwas is housed in the best vice regal Lodge situated on top of the Observatory Hill. The building was from between 1880 and 1888 during British reign. The year 1965 saw the formulation of Indian Institute of Advanced Study here by Dr. Radhakrishnan.

Tickets: 20 INR for Indian citizens, 20 INR extra for Garden Visit and 50 INR for Foreigners.

6- Jakhoo Hill

Situated 2 km from Shimla, Jakhoo Hill is the biggest peak in the entire hill station offers scenic view of the city and snow capped Himalayan Mountains. The 8000 ft Jakhoo Hill is a best visitor attraction that is visited by nature lovers and pilgrims as well. It is home to the ancient Jakhoo Temple, which has a big statue of Hanuman, its chief deity. Located at a distance of 8500 feet above sea level, the 108 feet tall statue has sensors to drive away the birds.

7-Tara Devi Temple & Kali Bari Temple

The location of the temple on the Hill top makes it appear that the goddess seems to keep everyone under the protective gaze, showering innumerable blessings on her worshippers From here one can get a panoramic view of Shimla and snow-clad Himalayan range on one side with the other side revealing the plains at a far distance.
There are big precessions and celebration held at the temple during the Navaratras and Ashtami.
